Frustrated that The Drake Magazine only comes out four times a year? Well now there’s more. Introducing The Drake’s new weekly flyfishing podcast, The DrakeCast. Just like the magazine, we’re bringing you stories–some fun, some serious. Every Friday you’ll get reporting, history, humor, and flyfishing. The first two episodes of The DrakeCast are available below.
Episode #1 of The DrakeCast follows grammy-winning musicians through Northern Wisconsin on their quest for the illusive winter trout. Their melancholy music fills the background as we uncover the band’s rise to fame and subsequent quest for solitude.
Episode #2 of The DrakeCast searches through the ashes of the fire that ravaged Great Smoky Mountains National Park this past November. We check in with the local fly shop, a few fisheries biologists, and hear how the area is doing today.
The next 8 episodes of The DrakeCast trace the route of Clyde’s journey from Wisconsin to Texas. Along the way, you’ll float down a brutal river in Michigan, interview Clyde, and track the rise and fall of a troubled tailwater. Along the way, we meet big rainbows, a couple steelhead, a brown trout or two, some mice, oversized mayflies, and plenty of fishy characters.
