Eliminate basketball from your bracket this spring. Insert fish. Cheeky’s March Madness lineup has been randomly seeded and features powerhouse first-round matchups such as mako shark vs. giant trevally, brook trout vs. tigerfish, and Atlantic salmon vs. carp.
Since 2011, more than 10,000 votes have been cast, thousands of dollars raised, and underdogs crowned champions. Who would have thought musky would outplay steelhead? Or snook taking down striped bass? Yep, it happened.
Via Cheeky: Individuals submit brackets with a $5 donation, and vote on the web for the fish they would like to target the most in each respective matchup. Just as in March Madness, the fish that wins each matchup advances to the next round. The participants with the most accurate brackets will receive awesome fly fishing prizes from our tournament sponsors, including fly reels, bags, flies, apparel, artwork, sunglasses, fishing gear (and, of course, bragging rights).
