With more than 400 entries to date, determining our first monthly winner for THE BIG YEAR contest came down to an ultraclose race.
Shutting the door on the month of May, Joe Petrow was the man with the most varied mixbag—edging out his closest competitors with 15 IGFA-verified species. Joe’s fish images spanned Colorado, Texas, and Florida, and included: tiger trout, black and white crappie, rainbow, sunfish, bluegill, channel cat, largemouth bass, speckled trout, blue runner, grass carp, ladyfish, and more.

THE BIG YEAR: Post a picture of you with your fish to The Drake’s Facebook Page/Big Year Link. Whoever posts the most different species of fish, that they caught between April 26, 2014, and April 25, 2015, on a fly rod, will lay claim to the Grand Prize loot.
