Fires Stoke Lower Peninsula Fears
Michigan fire crews are battling two wildfires threatening areas around some of Michigan’s best trout fishing areas. True North Trout reports that the larger of the two fires, the Meridian Boundary fire, is contained but not under control. According to Michigan DNR, the fire has burned approximately 7,520 acres in an area adjoining the South Branch of the Au Sable River, south of M-72, in South Branch Township.
Making Flyfishing Less Boring
Breaking Bad has quickly become one of our favorite, wickedly entertaining dramas on AMC. Turns out ol’ Uncle Hank shares a serious hankering for flyfishing, too. From Hank’s Blog: “This one time, Uncle Hank took me fishing. I know, we live in Albuquerque—where can you fish here? Well, there’s lots of places: Jemez, Pecos. Anyway, he’s, like, really into flyfishing, which is about the most boring thing you can do ever. I know they made some movie about it, but seriously… I’d rather change my sister’s diapers for a whole day than stand in some stream for hours.”
