Since synchronized carp fondling didn’t make this year’s list of esteemed Olympic alternative sports, Denver once again will play host to the 6th Annual South Platte Carp Slam. The pro-am event, which raised more than $30k last year for local river rehab efforts, kicks off on August 25. Tickets for the New Belgium-fueled Evening on the South Platte shaker are now available online.

“The 2nd Annual Evening on the South Platte will go from 7:00pm to 11:00pm. Hit List will be performing favorite covers on the stage. New Belgium beer, Gauchezco Argentinean wine and heavy hors d’oeuvres will be included with your ticket. There will be a fantastic silent auction followed by the Awards Ceremony for the 6th Annual Pro-Am Carp Slam, our fly-fishing carp tournament held on the urban S. Platte River through Denver taking place all-day that Saturday.”

Tickets are 50 bucks. See you there.
