captainkirkVANCOUVER—Canadian actor William Shatner has lent his iconic prowess to help urge Canadians in the fight for preserving British Columbia’s remaining wild salmon resources. The former Star Trek captain recently teamed up with Fin Donnelly, the federal New Democrat Fisheries and Oceans critic, who introduced a private member’s bill last month that would force fish farm operators to move from open nets along the B.C. coast to closed-containment systems.
