Nice Job, the finish looks really smooth. The varnishing for me was the most frustrating part, seems there was always a drip somewhere.

Congrats!

The varnishing is going slow. I've got three coats on the inside thus far and will likely do a fourth today. It is tedious, and I don't want to screw up 16 months of work by cutting corners on the final step.

Oh you won’t, one of your buddies will do that for you by the 3rd trip.

Now I really can’t wait for the get-it-wet part

7 coats of varnish on the inside. 7 coats of varnish on the outside. 4 months. I clearly didn’t like varnishing. Hunting season, cold temps, and bull redfish didn’t free up a lot of time either.

Completed on Friday and went for a paddle on Sunday. Boat paddled beautifully. She weighed in at 62.5 pounds, so lighter and easier to load on top the car as well.

19 months from start to finish.

I think I’m bored already. I need another project.

Wow, absolutely beautiful. Congrats Brett. Looks like a great first float too.

Hear ya on the boredom.. something about daydreaming about a project like that you get too used to.

Wet wading in early March. I'm jealous. June can't arrive soon enough.

Don't be too jealous.

My daughter asked me, while standing in the Madison River, if there were sharks or alligators. My reply may have been overgeneralized, but was that things in Louisiana that will kill you are in the water and things in Montana that will kill you are on land.

Of course there are exceptions, like people....
